Omaha Hi Low: Fundamental Outline

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is frequently viewed as one of the most complex but popular poker variations. It’s a variation that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for play from all levels of players. This is the chief reason why a once obscure game, has increased in popularity so quickly.
Omaha 8 or better starts exactly like a normal game of Omaha. Four cards are handed out to every player. A round of wagering follows in which gamblers can bet, check, or fold. Three cards are dealt out, this is known as the flop. A further round of betting ensues. After all the players have either called or dropped out, a further card is flipped on the turn. an additional sequence of wagering follows and then the river card is revealed. The gamblers will have to make the best high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.
This is the point where a few players can get baffled. Contrasted to Hold’em, where the board can make up every player’s hand, in Omaha hi low the player must utilize exactly three cards from the board, and precisely two hole cards. No more, no less. Contrary to normal Omaha, there are two ways a pot can be won: the "high hand" or the "low hand."
A high hand is exactly what it sounds like. It is the strongest possible hand out of everyone’s, regardless if it is a straight, flush, full house, etc. It’s the same concept in just about every poker game.
A low hand is more difficult, but certainly free’s up the action. When deciding on a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that might be put together, with the lowest value being made up of A-2-3-4-5. Considering that straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the smallest value hand possible. The lower hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an 8 and lower. The low hand wins half of the pot, as does the higher hand. When there is no lower hand available, the high hand wins the entire pot.
It may seem complex at first, after a couple of rounds you will be agile enough to pick up on the fundamental nuances of play simply enough.
